Sometimes called the Gold Star, the Gold Moon was believed to be a moving star in the night sky. It is the seventh moon from Atruxia, and this makes it barely visible in the night sky. Little is known about the Gold Moon, but astronomers have verified that the moon is not actually made of gold, but is covered in what looks like reflective sand.

All magicians study the Gold Moon at least a little bit because its presence in the night sky seems to dampen a wizard’s control over magic. All major magical universities require a base understanding of the Gold Moon before practicing any substantial magic, while at the same time banning any in depth study of the moon for fear that one might learn how to harness the dampening effects against other wizards.
