The brightest of the moon, the Volcanic Moon fills the night sky with an orange light. This moon courses with rivers of lava and gapping volcanoes. Some of the eruptions from these volcanoes are violent enough to hurl liquid rock all the way to Atruxia.

The Volcanic Moon is the third moon from Atruxia. When it passes overhead, it bakes the air with a dry heat that can turn the smallest spark into a roaring fire. This heat parts even the densest clouds, ensuring a naked sky. It takes roughly one month for the Volcanic Moon to complete its journey across the sky, and it has a fairly predictable path in that it is more of a southern moon and rarely passes over the north.

Volcanites, the rocks that rain down on Atruxia from the Volcanic Moon, are highly prized. Those rare stones are believed to have magical properties, and are commonly used in enchanted weapons and armor.

It is incredibly common for magicians to study the Volcanic Moon, especially if they intend to engage in war. The magics learned from the Volcanic Moon are explosive. There are even a few well known societies such as the League of Pyromancers and the Demomancy Guild that study the Volcanic Moon exclusively.
